Course Features
The design of this E-Learning Certificate Course is based on the family resilience framework posited by Dr. Forma Walsh. The theoretical framework encompasses three domains and nine components as below:
Family Belief Systems | Making meaning in adversity |
---|---|
Positive outlook | |
Transcendence and spirituality |
Organizational Patterns | Flexibility |
---|---|
Connectedness | |
Social and economic resources |
Communication/Problem-solving Processes | Clarity |
---|---|
Open emotional expression | |
Collaborative problem solving |
Through family stories, interviews with professionals, practicum exercises, and short tests, parents can be enriched with the concepts of family resilience. The combination of concepts, application, and reflection illustrates that the three domains and nine components are compatible to one another. Knowing the concepts of family resilience drives parents to make reflection on their family features and situations; in turn, parents can apply those concepts in daily life.
