Professional Training Workshop

Introduction of Professional Training Workshop

Rationale

Adversity could be seen as a compulsory course in our lives. Some adversity may be predictable, such as moving house, rehabilitation process for those with chronical diseases. Some adversity may appear without any notification, such as changes in economic situation, loss of jobs, etc. Adversity brings about continuous changes, which may impact all family members differently regardless of their ages.

How can social workers and various professionals provide support and assist families to go through the challenges? Through training workshops, this project intends to promote the concept of family resilience, which include three main domains, such as family beliefs, family operation and family communication. It is also hoped that the capacity of social workers on how to plan activities for family resilience could be improved through these experience activities and explanations.
