Professional Trainings - Outcome Evaluation

Professional Training for Social Workers

As of January 2023, the PolyU project team has hosted a total of 26 professional training, workshops, which were attended by a total of 777 social workers, college students or management staff from NGOs. The workshops were well-received by participants, with an average evaluation response rate of over 90%. In terms of knowledge, almost all participants agreed that the training enabled them to "master the three main domains advocated by family resilience theory, including belief system, organizational process and communication process". They also indicated that the training allowed them to "know that in times of adversity, every family member can contribute (tangible or emotional support) to ease the family’s burden”. As many as 98% of participants believed that the training allowed them to understand how “family resilience” can help families overcome adversity. In terms of practical skills, participants agreed that the training enhanced their "skills in activities related to family resilience" (97%). They also indicated that they would "apply the core elements of 'family resilience' into activities" (98%) and "try to design activities related to "family resilience" (96%).
