Introduction
The Jockey Club Promoting Family Resilience Project is a three-year project that aims to promote resilience in Hong Kong families, promote positive outlook among individuals, and equip professionals (e.g. social workers, counsellors) with knowledge and skills about Family Resilience through online information, E-Learning courses, community-based intervention programs, and professional trainings.
The PolyU Research Team uses both quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate the effectiveness of this project. As such, the quality of services can be improved continuously by studying the features of the collected data. Ultimately, the goal of promoting Family Resilience can be reached.
Moreover, the Research Team conducted a Needs Assessment Survey in 2021 to examine the impact of adversities on families in Hong Kong as well as the coping skills and features of individual families.
